Extricating victims from vehicles involved in accidents using the Jaws of Life. Techniques for safely rescuing and transporting injured individuals using a back board, ensuring proper spinal immobilization and support to prevent further injury during evacuation. Citizen Fire Academy Alumni help Ring the Bell for Salvation Army

Saturday November 25 was a blustery day in Georgia. The Gwinnett Citizen Fire Academy Alumni were out ringing the bell for the Salvation Army in front of Hobby Lobby in Lawrenceville that day. 8 volunteers spent the day greeting customers and wishing them Happy Holiday's as they passed. There were many generous patrons that day, who left a little something in the kettle. The Salvation Army helps those in need and everything that was collected will directly benefit our local community.

GCFAAA was fortunate to have Jen Wagner from the Animal Alliance of Georgia (https://www.animalallianceofgeorgia.org/) speak at our April 5 community meeting. Animal Alliance of Georgia is a non-profit, 100% volunteer organization, serving communities in Gwinnett and Barrow Counties, through both low-cost vaccine clinics, outreach events, and access to subsidized spay/neuter services.  The website provides a detailed description of AAG's mission, services, and availability.   What was most impressive was Jen's discussion of the volunteer efforts involved in operating AAG and the challenges she and fellow volunteers encounter when working to deliver quality services and care to animals in need of better health…
