Firefighters respond to a fire at Dillard's, caused by a dumpster. Firefighters reported a fire in a dumpster that was extending to the three-story building. Firefighters found that the fire was in the parapet wall extending from the roll-off dumpster, with moderate fire involvement on the exterior two-story wall connected to the main building. Once the building was fully evacuated, additional firefighters deployed one additional hose line that was used to extinguish the fire that extended from the building to a nearby tree and assisted with fire exposures. Firefighters encounter a deadly house fire in Lilburn. Firefighters responded at 6:23 p.m. to a report of a house fire at the 200 block of Sandra Drive in Lilburn. The 911 caller advised that the house was burning, and people were still inside the home. Two occupants were home at the time of the incident. An occupant noticed the home was on fire and woke his mother to start evacuating. The neighbor states he assisted the mother out of the home before the firefighters’ arrival. Overnight, firefighters responded to a house fire on the 600 block of Bruce Way in Lilburn.Thanks to a working smoke alarm, the residents were alerted to the danger and quickly called 911, reporting that their garage was on fire. The family, along with their dog, safely evacuated the home before firefighters arrived.Crews swiftly deployed three hose lines to bring the blaze under control. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The Red Cross is now assisting the displaced family.
