A certified car seat technician will inspect or assist with the installation of your car seat. During this time the technician will check for recalls on your car seat and then advise you on the proper way to handle the recall. To ensure the best fit possible it is recommended to have your child present during this process.
A program designed to promote safe living habits in single family homes for all age groups. During this program our educators will come out to your residence and meet with you one on one. The survey covers all areas from the outside to the inside of your home. This process will help to identify potential fire and injury hazards and discuss methods to address these hazards. Other topic areas covered include emergency preparedness, developing a home fire escape plan, and an understanding of the basic components and use of a fire extinguisher. As a part of this survey all residents will receive free smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm installations, if needed.
Children ages 4 to 12 years are guided by a fire educator through a room to room tour of our fire safety trailer. During this presentation the students are taught in home fire safety techniques. These techniques focus on such topics as what to do when a smoke alarm goes off, how to call 911, how to safely feel a closed door for heat, and much more. The last portion of this program the children will learn how to safely exit the home if there was a fire inside. (We use a non-toxic artificial water-based fluid to generate smoke).
This program is designed for preschool and elementary students. A Fire educator will come to your school or day care and teach children about fire safety through reading a story book with a fire safety message.
Conducting regular fire drills helps to ensure the safety of people in places of business and schools. Participating businesses and schools are given a drill evaluation form after the Fire Educator observes and assesses the evacuation drill.
A one-hour training course divided into two 30-minute segments. The first 30 minutes takes place in a classroom setting which focuses on basic fire behavior and fire prevention tips. The second portion of the class is a hands-on digital fire simulator in which the participant learns the basic components of the fire extinguisher and its proper use.
Fire Educators will visit local schools, daycare facilities and even various civic groups, during this presentation, children and adults will learn about fire safety in the home. For example, they will be taught that items like matches and lighters are tools not toys and that only an adult should use them. Other fire safety messages will be delivered to the group during the presentation and fire safety promotional items will be available for people to take.
A course designed to educate the professional workforce of any business. The program offers several components that can be done individually or collectively depending on the need. Topics covered in this program include fire extinguisher training, general fire safety, emergency response training, assistance in developing a fire drill plan, fire drill monitoring, and more.
Adults and children of all ages may go to the fire station of their choice and receive a demonstration of firefighter gear, a tour of the station, and fire safety tips. Tours may be scheduled between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Saturday. Tours are dependent upon emergency calls received by station personnel.
Upon approval by the Chief of the department, firefighters will visit local schools, daycare facilities, and other civic events. During this time children will learn about fire safety in the home and will get to watch a firefighter put on gear. This demonstration will teach children that even though firefighters look strange in their gear they are still friends. Lastly, the children will get to see all the tools on the fire engine and where firefighters sit when responding to calls.
In partnership with the Office of Insurance and Fire Safety Commissioner for the State of Georgia. We offer the Caregiver course, which is intended for persons responsible for the care, welfare, and safety of the occupants in their facility. Upon successful completion of all components of the course, each participant will be registered to receive their Caregiver Professional Certificate from the State of Georgia, Office of Insurance and Fire Safety Commissioner. Fire Education Instructors will provide overviews of CPR Hands Only techniques, AED usage, and First Aid to raise awareness of cardiac related emergencies and provide participants with life-saving information. Safe Sitter is a course designed to prepare students in grades 6 - 8 to be safe when they are home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. This instructor-led class is filled with fun games and roleplaying exercises. Students will learn CPR and First Aid skills, childcare routines, and even business skills.
