When forecasted temperatures reach 35 degrees Fahrenheit or below, the County’s five warming stations open from 6:00 pm to 7:00 am to offer temporary overnight relief from long-term exposure. Residents in need can warm up, eat a meal, and get some rest. On-call volunteers are needed to help staff organize check-in materials, greet participants, monitor program areas, assist with set-up and break down, and perform other related station tasks. Mobile Food Distributions – Tuesday’s – Nov & Dec – Register

Since 2020, Volunteer Gwinnett and the Atlanta Community Food Bank have partnered to provide residents with fresh and shelf-stable food through monthly drive-thru and walk-up distributions. These volunteer opportunities take place on Tuesday afternoons, with volunteers helping to sort, pack, and distribute food outdoors, rain or shine. Volunteers of all abilities are welcome. County Offices Closed For November holidays

All Gwinnett County Government offices, apart from operations required for the comfort and safety of residents, will be closed Tuesday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day and will resume regular hours on Wednesday, November 12. Offices will also be closed Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28 for the Thanksgiving holiday.Trash will be collected as normal throughout the holidays, except for Thanksgiving Day, when collection will be delayed.
