House Fire – Firefighters At Winthrope Way

This afternoon, firefighters responded to the 2600 block of Winthrope Way in Lawrenceville for a house fire. Fire crews quickly extinguished the flames with two hose lines, searched the home, and assessed one individual with minor injuries. The cause of the fire was accidental and the occupants were notified of the fire by their smoke alarms. Due to the firefighter's training and speed on the scene, they extinguished the fire in 17 minutes. For more Pics :

Home Safety Survey Program – GCFES

Fire and Emergency Services is always here to support seniors, especially through our Home Safety Survey program. Fire educators can provide a plethora of services through the program, including safety hazard checks for seniors’ homes, installation of smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. Our personnel will also help seniors organize a fire escape plan if a home evacuation is necessary due to an emergency. If a smoke alarm sounds, immediately evacuate the building to a safe location, call 911, and stay outside until emergency services advise you to return. The air attack orbits above all air tankers and helicopters and serves as an “eye in the sky” over the incident. Hands-Only CPR & AED Classes

Hands-Only CPR and AED classes are now open for registration in April, May, and June 2025! These free courses are an excellent opportunity to gain potential lifesaving knowledge and understanding when responding to a cardiac emergency. Classes will be held on Mondays, April 7, April 21, May 12, June 9, and June 23, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Fire and Emergency Services Headquarters, 408 Hurricane Shoals Road NE in Lawrenceville.
