Our department is always ready to help you when you call 911! When calling from a cell phone, tell the 911 operator your name, number, and the location of the emergency. Provide the street name, landmarks, mile markers, etc., for context. The What3Words app is also a great tool if you don’t know where you are. If you dial 911 on a traditional wired phone but can’t speak, leave your phone running off the hook. Our operators can track your location and respond to the scene. With warmer weather, more people will be out enjoying the sunshine, including bicyclists. It’s important that drivers and cyclists properly share the road. Please remember the following safety tips: If riding with someone else, cyclists ride side-by-side on the road to remain more visible to drivers and create a safety buffer in traffic. Make sure your bike is in good working condition, and wear a helmet. Drivers, please provide a 3-foot buffer between your vehicle and the cyclist. Gwinnett's Summer Meals program is back, provid­ing free grab-and-go breakfast and lunch to chil­dren 18 and younger and those 19 and older with physical or mental disabilities. Nutritious meals are available from Tuesday, May 27, through Friday, August 1, and can be picked up Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm – including County holidays – while supplies last.
