On February 1, 2025, at 10:28 a.m., firefighters responded to a report of an apartment fire at 1700 Estates Apartments, located at 3300 Treehouse Pkwy NW in Norcross.
Firefighters arrived to find black smoke from the breezeway of a two-three, split-level multi-family dwelling. After completing a walk around of the structure, firefighters found an active fire in an apartment on the second floor and quickly deployed a 1 ¾- inch handline to control the flames.
Primary and secondary search teams were deployed to all levels of the structure to ensure it was clear of any victims. Other fire ground operations included the establishment of a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) with multiple-second means of egress and a connection to a positive water supply. Firefighters achieved knockdown of the flames at 10:45 a.m.
Fire damage was limited to the single apartment with smoke and water damage to the lower levels. Building maintenance requested utility companies to secure power for the affected apartment.
Paramedics on the scene assessed and released three adults from the apartment. Apartment managers began working with the American Red Cross to initiate emergency assistance to the displaced occupants.
