Blight Bandits helped with THE SANDWICH PROJECT at Dacula United Methodist Church this evening! Thank you, volunteers!

The tradition continues! Come ring in the holiday season at Lighting of the Tree on Thanksgiving night, November 27 on the lawn of the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse. From 5:30pm to 8:00pm, enjoy live entertainment, kids’ activities, a gingerbread house contest, s’mores, and Santa’s grand arrival to light the tree! He’ll stick around to greet visitors and take photos in the Courthouse, which will also be open for self-guided tours. Marvel at the dazzling décor and architectural beauty of this historic building, decked in yuletide glitz inside and out! Reminder! Join us for America Recycles Day on Saturday, November 8 at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds from 9:00am to noon. Bring hard-to-recycle items like electronics, tires, clothing, sneakers, and latex/oil-based paint. • Paper shredding available (limit five copier paper boxes) • Paint: Up to 10 gallons per vehicle; cans must have at least 25% wet paint • No empty or rusted cans — empty cans go in your household trash • Fees apply for TVs, monitors, and printers • Tires without rims are accepted but no dealer tires Details and volunteer sign-up: GwinnettCounty.com/AmericaRecyclesDay 

Our annual Trick or Treatment Fall Festival is just two days away!Join Gwinnett Water Resources on Saturday, October 25 from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Yellow River Reclamation Facility for our free family fun fest.Play some games, create some crafts, and enjoy some delicious food. Take an eye-opening tour of our award-winning treatment facility (it’s not haunted, at least that’s what the ghosts tell us), and visit our vendors to learn about some of our community services.Costumes are encouraged, but optional. The more the scarier!

Community in Action! CFA Alumni volunteers joined Corners Outreach on October 21 for a walk-up food distribution event, helping provide fresh groceries and support to local families in need.We’re proud to be part of a community that cares and gives back! 

Blight Bandits is helping clean up our community. Another Gwinnett Great Days of Service project with members of the Dacula United Methodist church. We picked up 8 bag of trash, a muffler, a doll, an entire exploded 12 pack of coke and 1/2 of a wrench. We had an amazing turnout for this year’s Great Days of Service weekend! A big thank you to all the volunteers who came out to give back and make a difference in our community!

Join the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office and Volunteer Gwinnett at the 2025 Thanksgiving Food Giveaway at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds. Volunteers are needed Monday, November 3 through Wednesday, November 5 to prepare food boxes. Volunteers are also needed on Thursday, November 6 to distribute the food boxes to families in need. This outdoor opportunity involves standing and lifting, so gloves, closed-toe shoes, and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended. Volunteer groups of all sizes are welcome to register at this fun, annual event now in its fifth year.
