Storm Spotter Training Opportunity

Good morning, everyone, 

We have been informed of an upcoming virtual training opportunity. While this training is not being offered directly by our organization, we fully support it as part of the county’s broader community preparedness efforts.

 NWS Peachtree City/Atlanta meteorologists will be teaching several virtual basic-level Storm (Severe Weather) Spotter Training sessions. If you or your group/team is interested, please review the details below and register for a class. 

We encourage you to consider participating and sharing this opportunity with your networks as appropriate.

Upcoming NWS Atlanta Basic Spotter Training Classes (virtual):

  • February 26 (Thursday) at 12:00PM EST – Basic Spotter Training 
  • March 11 (Wednesday) at 12:00PM EDT – Basic Spotter Training
  • March 25 (Wednesday) at 6:00PM EDT – Basic Spotter Training

Additional information:

  1. We are looking into doing an“Advanced” level spotter training classtowards the end of March (after the Basic classes). Taking one of the above “basic” level spotter training is a recommended prerequisite to the Advanced class. A separate email will be sent out about this class and registration in the next few weeks.
