Here are some tips: • Be mindful of school zone signage and reduce your speed when traveling in these areas • Prepare to slow down and come to a complete stop when the school bus has yellow lights flashing. HouseFire – FireFighters — Old Athens Highway

In the early hours of Saturday morning, firefighters rushed to a house fire on Old Athens Highway in Lawrenceville. When crews arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames. Because the structure was unsafe, firefighters fought the fire from outside and brought it under control in about an hour. Search teams later entered safe parts of the home but did not find any victims.  One of the residents who lived in the house told firefighters she was away when the fire started.
