From Sunday, March 16, to Saturday, March 22, Fire and Emergency Services recognizes National Poison Prevention Week, during which we focus on educating our community about how to react in poison-related situations.
Even more than gun or car-related incidents, poisoning remains the leading cause of injury-related deaths in America. This year, the week’s theme is “When the unexpected happens, Poison Help is here for you.”
Whether you need to ask about certain medication and cleaning products or help understanding how to handle insect bites and food poisoning, help is available. Georgia Poison Control is just a phone call away at 800.222.1222.
