Searching is one of the most essential skills we learn to save lives. To teach our firefighter/paramedics how to effectively search a building, we train on a drill that we call “Nuts and Bolts. ” In this drill, the firefighter/paramedic trainee begins at the top of our training tower and meticulously works down to the ground floor searching for a bolt with washers on it. If the trainee loses or misses any items, they will fail the drill. This drill teaches attention to detail, search techniques, and how to do difficult tasks under pressure. On 24th , May 2024 hands-on experience and demonstrations such as: Operating fire hoses, incl Rescuing individuals from elevated positions with the use of the Ladder Truck. Extricating victims from vehicles involved in accidents using the Jaws of Life. Techniques for safely rescuing and transporting injured individuals using a back board, ensuring proper spinal immobilization and support to prevent further injury during evacuation.
