Good Evening Alumni, A friendly reminder that our Mobile Food Distribution for Tuesday, July 22, 2025 will be at Best Friend Park located at 6224 Jimmy Carter Blvd,  Norcross, GA 30071. To ensure a smooth start, please aim to arrive at the distribution site by 1:00 PM. The food distribution will begin at 3:00 PM and will continue until supplies run out. During the event, we'll be engaged in tasks such as assembling packages of non-perishable food items and produce for distribution, coordinating vehicles, and loading food boxes (weighing up to 40 lbs.) into vehicles. Improper disposal of household hazardous wastes like aerosols, flammable liquids, fuels, and oil paints can severely damage our local environment. Summer is a great time to clean out your garage or basement and bring any hazardous waste to the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds on on Saturday, July 26, from 7:30am to 1:00pm. Your help ensures these harmful materials are handled responsibly, protecting our beautiful county for everyone. You can also volunteer to assist with directing traffic, unloading vehicles, breaking down boxes, and other tasks. Learn more about how to support this event at GwinnettCB.org.

Join us for our Car Seat Safety Check event on August 15 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the Gwinnett County Public Library-Duluth Branch located at 3180 Main Street in Duluth! This event is free, and registration is not required. Car seat technicians from Gwinnett Fire will be on hand to check proper car seat installation, ensure the harness fits the child, and answer questions regarding car seat safety. Yesterday afternoon, a residential fire broke out in Duluth, beginning in the backyard before rapidly spreading to the main house. Firefighters responded promptly and gained control of the fire within 20 minutes. The fire led to the displacement of five individuals, and fortunately, no one was injured at the scene. Firefighters responded to a report of a House Fire on the 4200 block of Round Stone Trail SW in unincorporated Snellville at 7:35 p.m. Fire crews brought the fire under control shortly after 7:49 p.m. No other injuries were reported in connection with this incident. In addition to the human victim, search teams identified three deceased canine pets inside the home and one feline that was suffering from smoke inhalation. Medical crews were able to treat the cat with supplemental oxygen via a pet mask before turning it over to Gwinnett Animal Welfare & Enforcement for transport to a veterinary…
