Safety Tips for celebrating Christmas : Keep candles at least 12 inches away from anything that burns. Make sure they are in stable holders and place them where they cannot be knocked down easily. Consider using battery-operated flameless candles, which can look, smell and feel like real candles. Inspect holiday lights each year before you put them up. Saturday morning at the Smoke Alarm Blitz in Norcross! CFA volunteers, Fire Educators, and Firefighters visited approximately 140 homes, and were able to install approximately 42 smoke alarms and CO detectors. These efforts are critical to keeping families safe by ensuring they have working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors in their homes.
