Hands-Only CPR & Safety Event at Gas South Arena! What an incredible day at Gas South Arena (6400 Sugarloaf Pkwy, Duluth, GA)! A huge thank you to our amazing CFA volunteers, dedicated CRR Educators, and our Gwinnett County Firefighters for sharing their time, knowledge, and passion for saving lives. And of course — thank you to all our participants who stopped by the Safety Table and learned how to perform Hands-Only CPR. Every set of hands trained today makes our community stronger and safer!

Stay Flame-Free: Choose flame-resistant costumes and keep away from open flames or candles. Walk Safely: Cross at corners, use sidewalks, and stay alert for vehicles. Check Treats: Inspect all candy before eating—only enjoy factory-sealed treats. Light the Way: If you’re handing out candy, keep your porch well-lit and walkways clear.Have a frightfully fun night filled with treats, not tricks!

Fall Fun for Everyone! What an amazing afternoon at the Fall Festival at the Mall of Georgia Saturday 10.25.25 ! Families enjoyed face painting, bounce houses, and special guests — plus a chance to learn Hands-Only CPR from our Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services team.A huge thank you to our incredible CFA volunteers, Fire Educators, and Firefighters for sharing their time and knowledge — and to the community for coming out to join the fun!

County Offices Closed For November holidays

All Gwinnett County Government offices, apart from operations required for the comfort and safety of residents, will be closed Tuesday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day and will resume regular hours on Wednesday, November 12. Offices will also be closed Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Trash will be collected as normal throughout the holidays, except for Thanksgiving Day, when collection will be delayed. For more information, visit GCSolidWaste.com. A Magistrate Court judge will be available at the Gwinnett County Detention Center during the holiday.

Dispose Old Medications At Gwinnett Police Precincts

Residents can now drop off unwanted medications like half-used prescriptions, expired pills, and forgotten cough syrups at NarcX collection boxes located at every Gwinnett police precinct and at police headquarters for free. Between 8:00am and 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, residents can safely drop off pills, tablets, capsules, and liquids with no questions asked. In partnership with the Council on Alcohol and Drugs, this initiative helps prevent dangers like accidental ingestion, prescription medication misuse, and environmental contamination.

America Recycles Day – Recycle Your Items

Have some hard-to-recycle items? Rain or shine, you can bring them to America Recycles Day on Saturday, November 8 from 9:00am to noon at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds in Lawrenceville.Volunteers will remove items placed in disposable containers from the trunk or back seat of your vehicle. Recycling electronics is free except for projection/console TVs ($35), computer monitors ($15), and printers ($5). For a full list of acceptable items, visit GCSolidWaste.com or call 770.822.7141.
