Monthly Spotlight – Station22

Monthly Spotlight – Station22
We’re shining a monthly spotlight on our fire stations, and for May, it’s Station 22.
Did you know that Station 22, located on Stone Drive in Lilburn, once served as a single-house fire station but has since been changed into a double house, complete with an engine, a ladder truck, and a med unit?
Under the shadow of Stone Mountain, its construction began on July 28, 1997, and was completed on September 23, 1998.
The building was dedicated in honor of Charles Brant Chesney — “A Firefighter’s Firefighter.”
Nearly three decades later, eight firefighters typically staff each shift, creating a family of 24 that calls the station home.
Closely bordering DeKalb County, Station 22 has proven to reliably respond to all fire and medical calls in the area, serving as a beacon of hope to everyone in their community!
