Firefighters responded to an early morning house fire in the 4000 block of Coppedge Trail NW in Peachtree Corners.
When crews arrived, the home was engulfed with flames venting through the roof. Crews worked defensively, using multiple hose lines and a ladder truck, and controlled the fire in about 45 minutes. The home was heavily damaged and is considered a total loss.
Two people were able to get out safely before firefighters arrived.
A fire investigator determined the fire to have originated on the screened-in porch at the rear of the residence. The cause remains undetermined at this time.
