At last night’s CFA meeting, the Fire Educators demonstrated how to assemble and operate some of their teaching equipment, preparing us to assist in community training events.
We discussed the importance of understanding acronyms like CRR (Community Risk Reduction) and MFSH (Mobile Fire Safety House) and what is a Pre-Canvas Blitz to help volunteers better understand the need from the volunteers in assisting the Educators.
We’re excited to share that our CFA Alumni fulfilled a wish list for Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services by providing:
- 47 Night Lights
- 5 Bed Shakers
- 150 Bicycle Helmets
- 7 Fire Escape Ladders
- 7 Child Collapsible Tunnels
- 7 Folding Gym Mats
- 7 Gray Blankets
A special shoutout to our members who put their training into action! Robert shared how he helped someone who fell and severely cut his wrist while on blood thinners. Robert was able to render aid to the gentleman by applying a tourniquet thanks to training from our Fire One meeting! Member Jeff also came to the aid of a young man who injured his leg with a chainsaw. Great job, guys—you ROCK! 🚒🔥
