CFA Class #38 Check-In: Swiftwater Rescue & Fire Safety Night at Station 14 in Buford!
Here’s what they experienced:
Swiftwater Rescue Training – Station 14 is home to Gwinnett’s Swiftwater Specialty Team, complete with boats and specialized gear. The class learned about the dangers of moving water, rescue techniques, and the skills needed to save lives during water emergencies.
Fire Extinguisher Training – Class members also practiced how to safely put out a fire using the PASS method:
Pull the pin
Aim at the base of the fire
Squeeze the handle
Sweep side to side
Both lessons emphasized how quickly emergencies can escalate and how important training, preparation, and awareness are in keeping our community safe.
