Ride Gwinnett To Merge Commuter Service With Xpress

Beginning Monday, June 16, Ride Gwinnett commuter service will merge operations with Xpress, a regional commuter bus service operated by the Atlanta-region Transit Link Authority. Current Ride Gwinnett commuter customers are encouraged to review the upcoming service changes and plan for a smooth transition to Xpress. These updates are part of ATL’s systemwide service changes to improve efficiency in response to decreased ridership and shifts in commute patterns following the pandemic. Shared meals are a firefighter tradition, which leads to some recipes becoming a staple. One of our team members shares their delicious fish taco recipe that can feed an entire single-house crew. First, brush a hot griddle with oil and brown both sides of a street taco-sized tortilla shell. For fish, this recipe uses 3 to 4 pounds of flakey white fish, such as cod or mahi mahi. Toss your fish with a teaspoon each of chili powder and garlic salt, 4 tablespoons of olive oil, and the juice of one lime. Marinate for 15 minutes. Now, homemade chipotle sauce!…

GCFES Station1 Team – Good Memories – Reunion

In the early morning hours of April 11, 2016, Station 1 responded to a 26-year-old pregnant woman who was experiencing a medical emergency, resulting in the delivery of a 31-week-old baby. Once on the scene, the crewdecided to transport both the mother and child immediately to the hospital. Throughout the transport, CPR and lifesaving measures were administered to the neonate, and care was transferred to the hospital staff upon arrival. It is with profound sadness that Gwinnett County Fire & Emergency Services announces the off-duty death of Fire Inspector Senior Aleks Shaverin on March 24, 2025. Aleksandr “Aleks” V. Shaverin joined our fire family on March 27, 2010. After completing his fire recruit training and gaining an Emergency Medical Technician certification, Shaverin received his first assignment at Fire Station 6 on A-Shift.
