Join us for our Car Seat Safety Check event on August 15 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the Gwinnett County Public Library-Duluth Branch located at 3180 Main Street in Duluth! This event is free, and registration is not required. Car seat technicians from Gwinnett Fire will be on hand to check proper car seat installation, ensure the harness fits the child, and answer questions regarding car seat safety. Yesterday afternoon, a residential fire broke out in Duluth, beginning in the backyard before rapidly spreading to the main house. Firefighters responded promptly and gained control of the fire within 20 minutes. The fire led to the displacement of five individuals, and fortunately, no one was injured at the scene. Firefighters responded to a report of a House Fire on the 4200 block of Round Stone Trail SW in unincorporated Snellville at 7:35 p.m. Fire crews brought the fire under control shortly after 7:49 p.m. No other injuries were reported in connection with this incident. In addition to the human victim, search teams identified three deceased canine pets inside the home and one feline that was suffering from smoke inhalation. Medical crews were able to treat the cat with supplemental oxygen via a pet mask before turning it over to Gwinnett Animal Welfare & Enforcement for transport to a veterinary…

  Earlier this evening, our firefighters responded to the 1700 block of Philadelphia Court in Lawrenceville for a report of a house fire. The fire originated from a mechanical issue with the homeowner's vehicle. Firefighters contained and extinguished the fire in 12 minutes. One individual was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Please remember, if there is a fire in your home, exit quickly and call 911. For More Images :
