Safety First at the Trauma Symposium! A big shout out to our incredible CRR Educators and CFA Volunteers who represented at the Safe Kids informational table during the Northside Hospital Gwinnett Trauma Symposium at Gas South Arena! They shared valuable safety tips and resources to help families prevent injuries and stay informed. Thank you for your dedication to education, prevention, and protecting our community -- one conversation at a time!

It was a fun and fulfilling day with lots of CFA alumni showing up to lend a hand and serve our community. We’re so proud of the continued commitment and teamwork from our alumni family! Gwinnett firefighters responded at 9:55 p.m. last night to a house fire in the 4000 block of Tower View Trail SW in Snellville, after a neighbor reported flames coming from the roof. Crews arrived to find a working fire and quickly brought it under control with fire damage limited to the attic space. One occupant safely evacuated before firefighters arrived. Firefighters determined the fire was caused by a lightning strike during a strong line of storms moving through the area. For more Images : 

Firefighters responded to an early morning house fire in the 4000 block of Coppedge Trail NW in Peachtree Corners. When crews arrived, the home was engulfed with flames venting through the roof. Crews worked defensively, using multiple hose lines and a ladder truck, and controlled the fire in about 45 minutes. The home was heavily damaged and is considered a total loss. Two people were able to get out safely before firefighters arrived. A fire investigator determined the fire to have originated on the screened-in porch at the rear of the residence. Multicultural Festival   Spread the word – the Gwinnett Multicultural Festival and County Government Open House is returning for its 11th year! Training in action! Disaster event training at one of Gwinnett County's High Schools. The team included CFA volunteers, CRR Educators, emergency personnel, staff, and students who worked together to practice critical response skills in a simulation emergency scenario. Grab a Summer meal On-The-Go Gwinnett's Summer Meals program is back, providing free grab-and-go breakfast and lunch to children 18 and younger and those 19 and older with physical or mental disabilities. Nutritious meals are available from Tuesday, May 27 through Friday, August 1, and can be picked up Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm — including County holidays — while supplies last. Gwinnett County joins the nation in celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! The month shines a spotlight on the rich history and significant contributions of our Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. This year's national theme, "Choosing Humanity," encourages residents to intentionally focus on shared humanity, the strength of community, and the beauty of diverse cultures. A highlight of our month-long celebration will be the annual AAPI Heritage Cultural Night on Friday, May 30 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center in Lawrenceville.
