When forecasted temperatures reach 35 degrees Fahrenheit or below, the County’s five warming stations open from 6:00 pm to 7:00 am to offer temporary overnight relief from long-term exposure. Residents in need can warm up, eat a meal, and get some rest. Residents can now drop off unwanted medications like half-used prescriptions, expired pills, and forgotten cough syrups at NarcX collection boxes located at every Gwinnett police precinct and at police headquarters for free. Between 8:00am and 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, residents can safely drop off pills, tablets, capsules, and liquids with no questions asked. In partnership with the Council on Alcohol and Drugs, this initiative helps prevent dangers like accidental ingestion, prescription medication misuse, and environmental contamination.

Have some hard-to-recycle items? Rain or shine, you can bring them to America Recycles Day on Saturday, November 8 from 9:00am to noon at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds in Lawrenceville.Volunteers will remove items placed in disposable containers from the trunk or back seat of your vehicle.
