Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson has issued a declaration of local emergency in advance of the major winter storm forecasted by the National Weather Service. The local declaration, which follows Governor Kemp's statewide declaration yesterday, activates certain emergency powers under the Gwinnett County Emergency Management Ordinance. Firefighters respond to a fire at Dillard's, caused by a dumpster. Firefighters reported a fire in a dumpster that was extending to the three-story building. Firefighters found that the fire was in the parapet wall extending from the roll-off dumpster, with moderate fire involvement on the exterior two-story wall connected to the main building.
