After a strong storm moves on, seeing downed power lines in your neighborhood may not be uncommon.
Should you see downed power lines, remember to do the following:
- -Always assume they’re energized! Keep yourself, your children, and your pets as far away from them as possible.
- -Call 911 and allow emergency personnel and professionals to address the situation.
- -Don’t drive over downed power lines, which can become tangled with your vehicle and cause further damage, even if offline.
- -Should your vehicle become tangled, stay in your car unless it’s on fire.
- -Don’t let anyone else touch your vehicle! Call 911.
