On Tuesday, Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson, on behalf of the Board of Commissioners, recognized May as Water Safety Month in Gwinnett County.
As the weather warms up and we head to pools, lakes, and splash pads, it’s crucial to stay mindful of water safety. Drowning remains a leading cause of preventable death for children and a significant risk for teens.
We’re proud of the hardworking teams at Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services, Gwinnett Parks and Recreation, and partners like the YMCA of Metro Atlanta. Their programs and outreach provide residents with the knowledge and skills to stay safe in and around water.
Together, we’re working to ensure that everyone in Gwinnett can enjoy water activities with confidence and care.
