Gwinnett Water Resources received a National Association of Counties achievement award in two categories for the team’s efforts in engaging residents and connecting with the community at Gwinnett’s water facilities. Water Resources is committed to fostering public engagement and education surrounding the vital role of water treatment, filtration, and sustainability.
Through two annual festivals — the Water Wonders Spring Festival at the Shoal Creek Filter Plant and the Trick or Treatment Fall Festival at the Yellow River Water Reclamation Facility — residents of all ages can explore where our drinking water comes from or gain firsthand experience with the wastewater treatment process, all while learning about environmental stewardship.
These programs create opportunities for civic education, public engagement, and enhanced community connections.
Save the date! This year’s Trick or Treatment Fall Festival will be on Saturday, October 25. Details to come!
