Checking In on Class -38 – Hazardous Materials Team & Mobile Smoke House! 
On October 23, 2025, our Gwinnett Citizens Fire Academy Class #38 visited Station 20 to learn about the specialized work of the Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) Team.
Class members got an up-close look at the equipment and techniques used to safely handle hazardous materials incidents — from chemical spills to unknown substances — and the vital role these highly trained firefighters play in protecting our community. 
The evening also included an exciting hands-on experience inside the Mobile Smoke House, where participants learned how to safely navigate and escape a smoke-filled environment — a powerful lesson in fire safety awareness!
