Gwinnett County is highlighting our vibrant senior community with a lineup of events this May in honor of Older Americans Month. This annual campaign is designed to challenge stereotypes about aging and empower older adults to remain engaged, independent, and included. Residents ages 50 and older are invited to celebrate this year's theme, "Flip the Script on Aging," at various activities around the county. The first day of our annual outdoor burning ban begins next week — Thursday, May 1. As a reminder, this ban is established statewide by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division and will be in effect until September 30, 2025. Please remember that burning yard debris is limited to leaves, limbs, etc. that fall on your property. Burning solid waste, household garbage, or any material that creates heavy dark smoke (rubber products, oils, roofing material, etc.) is prohibited. Save the date for the Annual Supplier Networking Event !!!
