Today, we honor Flag Day, a celebration of the adoption of the United States flag on June 14, 1777. The Stars and Stripes represent the unity, freedom, and sacrifices that have shaped our nation. Each star stands for a state, and each stripe pays tribute to the original 13 colonies that formed the foundation of the United States. As we see the flag waving today, let it be a reminder of the values we share.

For 10 years, the Gwinnett 101 Citizen Academy has given participants a firsthand glimpse into how and why the Gwinnett County Government operates the way it does. Aiming to cultivate informed and engaged residents, students, and business owners in Gwinnett, participants get a behind-the-scenes look at how the County provides high-quality services to the community, meet local leaders, and tour county facilities. The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office is hosting the Bridge the Gap Community 5K this Saturday, May 31 at Rabbit Hill Park, located at 400 Rabbit Hill Road in Dacula. The event will begin at 8:00am, with warm-up, registration, and packet pick-up from 7:00am to 7:45am. The race will finish by 10:30am. The race entry fee is $35. All proceeds from the race will benefit the Keybo Building Bridges Foundation, which focuses on improving community engagement and addressing disparities. Register today to enjoy a fun-filled event, establish impactful relationships, and support a worthy cause.
