Learn how to use a fire extinguisher the right way! Our Extinguisher Training class is designed to teach participants about different types of extinguishers and how to use them. Driving a fire engine, ladder truck, or ambulance is certainly not like riding a bike. You need continuous training to stay fresh on techniques and best practices for maneuvering such large vehicles. Recently, we started training our firefighter/paramedics using virtual reality equipment that simulates what driving these vehicles would be like. Investing time and equipment into this resource allows our employees additional practice before answering an emergency call. Want to learn more about what we do? Enrollment is now open for our fall class of Citizens Fire Academy! Class 36 will begin on Thursday, September 5! and will be held weekly from 6:00pm to 9:00pm over a period of nine weeks. For more information and to enroll, visit GwinnettCounty.com/CitizenGroups.

From food distribution to participating in the Smoke Alarm Blitz/Canvas, serving as a CFA Class Ambassador, and engaging in the Multicultural Festival, Catherine has made a significant impact through her volunteer efforts.
