Gwinnett Fire Sets Standard In Lifesaving Response & Readiness

We’re proud to be honored by the American Heart Association for providing high-quality care for heart attack and stroke patients before they reach the hospital. We received three awards recognizing our ability to deliver fast, effective, and research-based care:

  • Mission: Lifeline® EMS Gold Achievement Award for our commitment to offering rapid and research-based care to people experiencing the most severe form of heart attacks and strokes
  • Lifeline System of Care Target: Heart Attack Award for playing a crucial role in the prehospital phase, quickly identifying STEMIs (a specific type of heart attack) and making appropriate transport decisions to connect patients with the specialized care they need.
  • Stroke℠ Honor Roll Award for meeting specific criteria that reduces the time between a patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment with thrombolytic therapy to dissolve blood clots.

This marks the ninth consecutive year our department has received the Gold award, recognizing our continued commitment to reduce barriers to timely and effective treatment from the moment 911 is called, through EMS response, and into hospital care.

With this recognition, Gwinnett Fire and Emergency Services continues to set the standard in prehospital emergency care, delivering lifesaving service to residents when every second matters.
